Frequently Asked Questions

  • We open up our public booking system 2 weeks in advance. If you have a party of 10 or more, please send us an email so that we can solidify a date for you.

  • Although it may be warm on land, it will always be much cooler on the water. The wind chill alone is enough to drop the temperature significantly. We recommend wearing warm clothes and/or layers that can be taken off if you get too warm. Rain jackets are encouraged as Seattle weather can be quite unpredictable. Heels are not allowed on the boat and the crew will request that they be taken off before your trip.

  • Our boats offer options for bench seating although most of the seating is directly on the deck. If you are uncomfortable sitting on the deck, please make sure that you arrive early to get the first pick of the bench seating.

  • Our route is dictated by wind direction and boat traffic on Elliot bay. Because of this, we do not have a set route. Our plan is scoping out where the best wind conditions are for an enjoyable sail.

  • We do not offer a guided tour because our product is more about giving you the opportunity to enjoy being on the water and seeing the views. Our skilled crew can answer any questions you have about Seattle and the surrounding areas.

  • We do not sell drinks or food on board. You are welcome to bring anything you’d like with you, including alcohol. We ask that you refrain from bringing glass cups and anything else that might be messy on a moving boat.

  • We recommend making sure that you arrive early for your charter because we know that unforeseen circumstances can cause people to be late.

If you are going to be late, please call us at (206)624-3931. We generally do not offer refunds for those who are late but we are happy to reschedule you for another time or date.

  • Our charters are appropriate for all ages. We do not have room for strollers on board so it is best to bring a carrier if you are bringing a small child.

  • Dogs are not allowed on board including service animals. Our experience has shown that we cannot predict how a dog will react when on a sailboat. We do not want to put your animal in any position where it is uncomfortable or stressed out.

  • There is street parking on Alaskan Wy and plenty of parking garages a couple blocks up from the waterfront. Parking can be hard on weekends so we recommend taking an uber or public transportation.

  • We rarely witness people getting seasick on our boats. Sailboats are much different than power boats as the sails act as natural stabilizers preventing that choppy feeling you get on a powerboat. If you are worried about it, we recommend taking seasickness medication well before your sailing time.

  • Yes. Each of our boats have the required Coast Guard regulated amount of life jackets on board. You are not required to wear one during our sails. If you feel more comfortable wearing one, get the attention of your captain or deckhand and they will provide one for you.

  • Yes, have have marine heads available throughout your charter.

  • Seattle weather is very unpredictable, therefore it is hard to build our schedule around days that it will be rainy. If it is raining during the time of your sail, reach out to our dockside administrator and we will reschedule or refund your tickets. We do not refund tickets for overcast and clouds.

  • You are certainly welcome to help sail the boat during your trip! Ask the deckhand and/or captain how you can help and they will instruct you. Don’t forget to try your hand at the helm!

  • Unless it is raining, you generally will not get wet. If you choose to sit on the bow during a windy day, you might get a little spray of water. Our deckhands will inform you if you are sitting in a spot where you could get a little wet.

  • Since all of our guests have different tastes in music, we ask that you please refrain from bringing a speaker to play your own music. At the end of the day, sailing is about the serenity of the wind and waves!
