Private Charter Frequently Asked Questions

For FAQs unrelated to private charters, check out our general FAQ page here.

  • We operate out of two locations- Pier 56 on the downtown Seattle waterfront and Shilshole Bay Marina.

Our route is entirely wind dependent and changes every sail! If you have a specific destination in mind (within reason), we can kick on the engine and take you there. We do not stop at any locations.

  • We have our boats docked at two different locations-

Pier 56 on the downtown Seattle waterfront (1201 Alaskan Wy, Seattle, WA 98101). Please check in at the yellow ticket booth upon arrival. Boarding will occur next to the ticket booth.

Shilshole Bay Marina (7001 Seaview Ave NW, Seattle, WA 98117). Please meet at the Statue of Leif Erikson and a crew member will take you down to the boat.

Your boarding details and location can be found on your email confirmation. Please make sure you booked for the right location!

  • We work with a great caterer- Tuxedos and Tennis Shoes. They have curated a special menu for our boats.

You are welcome to bring any food and/or drinks you would like, or you can provide your own caterer. We recommend bringing food that is convenient to eat on a moving boat- finger foods, sandwiches, cheese and charcuterie trays, etc.

  • Yes, if you are planning on serving any alcohol on our boats you will need to obtain a banquet permit.

There’s a quick form to fill out online as well as a $10 payment. More information can be found here-

    https://lcb.wa.gov/sites/default/files/publications/licensing/Portal-Content/Banquet_Permit_Job%20Aid_3.pdf

If you decide to use our preferred caterer, Tuxedos and Tennis Shoes, they will obtain a permit for you.

  • Pier 56 Downtown Seattle-

There are several parking garages in the area as well as street parking. Parking can be difficult on the weekends so we recommend using Uber/Lyft.

    Shilshole Bay Marina-

There is plenty of parking at the marina as well as on the street near the marina. Please make sure you don’t park in a permit only or load/unload only spot.

  • We have a large Bluetooth speaker available for your use on the boat.

  • We recommend wearing warm clothes and/or layers that can be taken off if you get too warm. Rain jackets are encouraged as Seattle weather can be quite unpredictable. Heels are not allowed on the boat and the crew will request that they be taken off before your trip.

  • Reach out to us before your private charter to see how early you can arrive to set up your boat. Generally, we allow 30 minutes prior to your departure for set up. Our crew needs ample time to clean your boat in between charters.

  • Our captain and crew can help almost anybody get on the boat and make them comfortable. We have bench seating allocated for those who need it.

  • CANCELLATION:

    • A 50% deposit is required to secure your private charter.

    • If you cancel more than 7 days before your scheduled trip, we will refund your deposit minus a 3% processing fee.

    • If you cancel within 7 days of your trip, your deposit is non-refundable.
