Private Charter Terms and Conditions

Terms & Conditions

1. Cancellation Policy

  • A 50% deposit is required to secure all private charters.

  • Cancellations made more than 7 days prior to the scheduled charter will receive a refund of the deposit, minus a 3% processing fee.

  • Cancellations made within 7 days of the charter are non-refundable.

  • In the event that Sailing Seattle must cancel due to circumstances beyond our control (including but not limited to weather, mechanical issues, or safety concerns), guests will be offered either a reschedule credit or a full refund.

  • By booking, you acknowledge and agree to this cancellation policy.

2. Gratuity

A 15% gratuity is added to all charters and is distributed entirely to the crew. Guests may request to adjust this amount prior to or during their charter.

3. Alcohol Policy & Permits

In accordance with regulations from the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board:

  • Guests bringing and serving their own alcohol must obtain a Banquet Permit prior to the charter.

  • We recommend securing this permit at least 7 days in advance.

  • If using our preferred caterer, Tuxedos & Tennis Shoes, the required permit will be provided on your behalf.

4. Prohibited Items & Conduct

The following are strictly prohibited onboard:

  • Smoking or vaping

  • Drugs, including marijuana

  • Firearms

  • Drones

  • Animals, including service animals

Sailing Seattle reserves the right to:

  • Remove alcohol from any guest for safety reasons

  • Deny boarding to guests who appear intoxicated or impaired (no refund will be issued)

  • Terminate a charter without refund in cases of unsafe behavior, including verbal abuse toward crew or guests

Serious incidents may be reported to the United States Coast Guard and/or local law enforcement.

5. Assumption of Risk

Guests acknowledge that they are boarding an active sailing vessel with uneven surfaces, moving lines, and inherent trip hazards. By boarding, guests accept responsibility for their own safety and agree to exercise caution while onboard.
